LLoyd Moloney

Managing Director

Over the past 19 years Lloyd has acquired comprehensive experience and expertise in Development Planning, Project Feasibility studies, Property Management, Major & Minor Civil Infrastructure, Hydrology & Network Planning. Lloyd has developed skills in liaison with State and Local Government Planning and Development Legislation and Regulations and a number of other relevant policies. He has developed a positive track record in successfully designing, achieving approval and overseeing the construction of range different projects, from State Controlled roadwork’s to Residential and Commercial Developments. Contract Administration, Budget and Cost Control, combined with excellent communication skills and the ability to manage resource’s to meet the needs of a variety of stakeholders, from general community to private clients to Local and State Government authorities are few of Lloyd’s key abilities. Throughout Lloyd’s endeavor’s he stands by three main principles of Excellence, Integrity and Innovation.

Stephen Moloney

Chief Financial Officer

From over 26 years in multiple business management disciplines, Stephen has acquired a unique and profound skill set to lead and govern the company's corporate structure. After establishing well founded leadership and business management skills during the period of owning and operating a rural agriculture business in Central Western Queensland, Stephen later went on to work for the Australian Bureau of Agriculture Resource Economics and Science (ABARES) in Financial Performance Analysis and Farm Production. As alike business principles apply, Stephen's rounded and unparalleled skill set, coupled with life moralities of integrity and excellence help found the company's corporate governance and vision.

Derek Arrowsmith

Infrastructure Manager

As a Principal Engineer, Derek brings over 30 years experience in the field of Civil Engineering covering all stages of a project from Concept Design through to Construction Finalisation and Operational Maintenance. With technical skills covering a diverse range of infrastructure projects including residential sub division design, major road design, sub division construction and major civil works construction including roads and bridges Derek has the flexibility to meet the Engineering needs for a wide range of infrastructure projects. Coupled with a strong maintenance background Derek is well positioned to provide sound advice on whole of life project development. His extensive supervision and cost effective problem solving abilities mark as him as a real asset to the team.

Paul Jenkins

Urban Development Manager

Paul has 26+ years of experience in Civil Earthworks, Roadworks, Civil Infrastructure, Water Supply, Sewerage Reticulation, and Hydraulic Design/Construction Supervision. He's well-versed in State and Local Government Planning and Development Legislation/Regulations, Environmental Guidelines, and other relevant policies. Paul has a proven track record in successfully designing, gaining approval for, and overseeing the construction of various projects. He excels in Development Feasibilities, Budget/Cost Control, and Risk Management, and has excellent communication skills. Paul can facilitate major projects and satisfy the needs of stakeholders ranging from the general community to private clients and Local/State Government authorities. Paul's ultimate goals are client satisfaction and engineering/project management excellence.

Jhony Obando

Principal Structures Engineer

Jhony is an enthusiastic and highly motivated Structural RPEQ Engineer. Jhony compliments the team with over 16 years of experience with a Masters in Structural Engineering, Jhony’s technical skills extend to reinforced pre-stressed concrete, composite fibre materials, steel and timber design. He has worked across a variety of projects including bridges and major culvert structures and also commercial and industrial building design. Jhony is the lynch pin to Moloney & Son’s finite ‘design it build it” capability, where he provides absolute refinement to all our designs and ensures quality and cost efficiency targets are achieved every time.

Our Heritage

The Moloney family first arrived in Rockhampton, with our Great Great Grandfather Mr John Moloney sailing in on the ship Winsfel in 1861. Starting out in the early settlement years, he began working in Yaamba just north of Rockhampton at the age of 18. Soon after moving back to Eton Vale, Rockhampton, where he established one of the first prominent citrus farms in the area. John was later appointed to be the first treasurer of the local Glenmore School, where his eleven children would attend. As a result of his generous contribution to the region & his ever ready attitude to communicate the result of his long experience, he was honoured with the tribute of having the adjacent street running parallel with Splitters Creek being named after him as Moloney St, after his passing. A mistake was made in the sign writing of the street, and has since been named Maloney St.

Fast forward to June 2014. Lloyd Moloney had been working in various full-time engineering roles and felt led to resign and start a family legacy, birthing Moloney & Sons Engineering. Since its inception in 2014, Moloney & Sons Engineering has grown from a one-man-band in a bedroom office to incorporate four Moloney families and several other employees servicing projects in cities and towns throughout the entire Eastern Seaboard. Expanding in 2018 to Engineering Manufacturing has seen the business grow to 3 offices in Rockhampton, Gold Coast and Barcaldine.

Generations on, the same Moloney family has been present in Rockhampton ever since that day in 1861, that John stepped off the ship Winsfel. Thus, emulating over 150 years of family history in the Rockhampton region. This stands to testament that through the seasons, Moloney’s will be there.
